| Bio: | Matt is the "self-proclaimed cool one" of the group, as Tai puts it. His hair is also as crazy as Tai's, as it is blonde, spiked and very heavily gelled. He usually wears a green sleeveless top, dark blue jeans with turn-ups, brown gloves and a pair of brown shoes. Matt, at the beginning of the series, is shown to be a very witty and sarcastic person, although we soon find out that he is seriously protective of his little brother T.K., who was sucked into the digital world along with him and the others. This is probably because Matt and T.K.'s parents have been divorced and Matt feels a certain responsibility towards his brother. Matt is also a very careful person; he always thinks before acting. For instance, in the episode "Ikkakumon's Harpoon Torpedo," Tai argued that climbing Infinity Mountain would give a better view of the island, while Matt countered that it was dangerous and reckless to just climb the mountain without any proper equipment or without knowing what was up there. Matt's feeling about his brother, his thoughts, emotions and angst all culminated when he ran away from the group while the Dark Masters were controlling the digital world. After being manipulated by Cherrymon, he took the decision to fight Tai and WarGreymon, thinking it would solve his problems and depression. Luckily, he was soon saved by Gabumon, who snapped him out of his self-hate and saved him from being swallowed by the darkness in his own heart. Matt's family are his father (Hiroaki), his mother (Natsuko/Nancy) and his little brother (T.K.), with whom he doesn't live with any more due to their parents being divorced. He has a grandmother on his father's side (unnamed) who appears in the movie Our War Game. His mother's father is called Michel and currently lives in Paris. |
