About the Game ::. Digimon was a popular tamagotchi-like game that many kids played. Bandai figured they should make a Digimon video game with 3-D Digimon rather than LCDs. The idea of the game is pretty much like that of the LCD game, except with added features. In this game you feed, train, and clean up after your Digimon. Although you have no control over battles what-so-ever, you can still train your Digimon to become strong and possibly reach ultimate level.

Features ::.
- Experience the excitement of the hit animated television series
- Featuring favorite TV Digimon characters
- Over 80 Digimon to raise, nurture, and take on adventures
- Cities and adventures will keep you busy
- Battle in 1 or 2 Player-modes
- Enter the arena and battle a friend using your trained Digimon

Review ::.
Digimon World is an OK game. Personally, I'm not into these nurturing types of games. Taking care of your Digimon and cleaning up after it was annoying to me. The number of Digimon isn't too impressive, but we have to remember that this game was made in Japan soon after Digimon's earliest stages. The only thing prior to this were first Digimon LCD games. This game definitely continued the tamagotchi style game play that the LCD games had, so I must say it did its job.

Up Sides ::.
- You can actually see Digimon in 3D, compared to the traditional LCD format
- Follows the ideas of the LCD game, making it seem the game came alive
- Raising Digimon is fun, especially when watching it destroy enemies!
- Walking around is fast, allowing you to get through from area to area quickly
- The game has both day and night modes!

Down Sides:
- Your Digimon needs something every 2 seconds, and it is very annoying
- Digimon can die if you don't take care of it, and forcing you to start over
- Ultimate is the highest level (Game was made before Mega level was created)
- Digimon branch off into different DigiVolutions, not natural evolution lines
- DigiVolution is difficult to master and weak Digimon like Sukamon may result

Over-all, this game gets annoying if you're not into the whole idea of constantly nurturing. I would suggest you only buy this game if you enjoy a Tamagochies. OnlineDigimon gives Digimon World for PS1 a 7/10
